A Dose of Quickies
Burnout Demo:
The only good thing to come out of the Madden fiasco, is there's apparently a Burnout: Revenge demo on the disk. For those of you who don't want a free subpar football game with your $50 demo, the discs are also available at Best Buy, and I'm sure other places as well.
Burnout 3: Takedown was the best game released last year, and this is just that much better. It's lightning fast, visceral, gorgeous, and extremely easy to pick up and play. Everyone should give it a look if you find the time, and I'm sure we'll hear more about it as the Sept 14 release gets closer.
Nintendo DS Redemption:
Meteos and Kirby: Canvas Curse are two games which finally... finally!... make the DS worth owning. Both are amazing pieces of code which show that the touch screen is more then just a gimmick, and can be used in amazing ways. I'll eventually get around to going in depth with them when I get closer to finishing both of them up (they have insane amounts of gameplay within them).
Nanostray unfortunately though is a letdown, and a good example of a tacked on touchscreen gameplay system. Bummer. The world needs more arcade-style shooters like Gradius.
But hey at least the DS has games coming out currently. PSP, it's about time to get some games eh?
Colors, Bold and Italics:
My color scheme is better then yours. Sorry, it had to be said. Also Tim, apparently, the bold and the italics do work.
Until next time.
