A Dose of Quickies

Burnout Demo: The only good thing to come out of the Madden fiasco, is there's apparently a Burnout: Revenge demo on the disk. For those of you who don't want a free subpar football game with your $50 demo, the discs are also available at Best Buy, and I'm sure other places as well. Burnout 3: Takedown was the best game released last year, and this is just that much better. It's lightning fast, visceral, gorgeous, and extremely easy to pick up and play. Everyone should give it a look if you find the time, and I'm sure we'll hear more about it as the Sept 14 release gets closer. Nintendo DS Redemption: Meteos and Kirby: Canvas Curse are two games which finally... finally!... make the DS worth owning. Both are amazing pieces of code which show that the touch screen is more then just a gimmick, and can be used in amazing ways. I'll eventually get around to going in depth with them when I get closer to finishing both of them up (they have insane amounts of gameplay within them). Nanostray unfortunately though is a letdown, and a good example of a tacked on touchscreen gameplay system. Bummer. The world needs more arcade-style shooters like Gradius. But hey at least the DS has games coming out currently. PSP, it's about time to get some games eh? Colors, Bold and Italics: My color scheme is better then yours. Sorry, it had to be said. Also Tim, apparently, the bold and the italics do work. Until next time.

Madden 06 sucks. I just got it today and I hate it. It lacks the cool ESPN 2K* halftime highlights, the QB vision thing is dumb and does not in any way "revolutionize" football games... oh wait, football gamE. Gamecube sucks (I sold mine after realizing it's not worth owning despite stellar games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. Meele). Nintendo really has to get it's sh*t together. I'm more excited about the gPod than the NIntrendo DS to be honest. The mere fact that the DS can't act as a PDA is ridiculous. It has a stylus, it has a touch screen, why not? Why not give someone a reason to buy the stupid thing. I'm peeved that PS3 is [supposedly] begin held off 'til '07 because of the success of the thin PS2. Metal Gear games rule even though I've only played the first one for PS2. Ninja Gaiden is worth buying like 3 Xboxes and I'm kinda getting sick of these Gran Turismo and Forza games that are impossible to even beat or get the cool cars without quitting your full time job.
